Voted “Top Doctor” by his peers in NJ Monthly for the fourth consecutive year, Dr. Rosa is one of a select group of Orthopaedic Surgeons pioneering Minimally Invasive Surgical techniques, the development of state-of-the-art medical devices, and the clinical evaluation of joint implant designs and materials.
As a former collegiate-scholarship athlete, Dr. Rosa has a special interest in all sports-related injuries with a concentration in arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder, rotator cuff and anterior cruciate ligament problems, and treatment of running injuries.
Dr. Rosa is the designing surgeon of a Unicompartmental (or partial) knee system and has shared his knowledge through seminars, presentations, cadaver labs, and live surgical instruction to specialized medical audiences throughout the US, and internationally as well.Many of Dr. Rosa’s patients who previously would have required total knee surgery for arthritic knees have benefitted from this new, unicompartmental procedure which allows for substantially reduced post-operative pain, a much quicker recovery and more normal knee function.
As the Director of the Joint Institute at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, Dr.Rosa devotes much of his time to Minimally Invasive Surgical techniques for Total Hip, Knee, and Shoulder Replacements.With more than 25 years of practical experience, Dr. Rosa treats, surgically and non-surgically, the full range of the musculoskeletal system (Bones, Joints, Tendons, and Muscles, etc.).
